Smarter Shopping Starts with Showroom AI

Project Overview
AI has taken the digital product world by storm, particularly in the e-commerce space—but introducing it to consumers without overwhelming them is a delicate balance. For Showroom AI, our goal was to design a responsive web experience that helps seasoned online shoppers adopt a smarter, more intuitive way to discover fashion products. The challenge was not just technical—it was aesthetic. The final product needed to feel fashion-forward, elegant, and entirely user-centric.

The Challenge
How do you create an AI shopping assistant that feels both intelligent and approachable? The Showroom team wanted to build a search-first product that relied on natural language input, but also served users who may not be familiar with AI tools. Our job was to design a solution that made smart suggestions feel intuitive and allowed users to refine results without needing to understand the full complexity of AI interactions.

Smart Search Meets Familiar Filters
We built the interface around a central natural language search bar, designed to feel both inviting and powerful. As users type in queries like “flowy summer dress under $150,” Showroom parses that language and displays intelligent product results. To guide users further, we integrated subtle, contextual UI elements—like floating filters—that appear in the thread as editable chips. These filters remain visible throughout the session, reinforcing the connection between AI and user intent.
To enhance this dynamic, we also built in logic to detect filterable parameters (e.g. size, price, color, brand) from the user’s input and automatically convert them into thread-based filter tags. This not only speeds up refinement but builds user trust in the AI’s comprehension. The result is a search flow that feels less like querying a machine and more like having a conversation with a fashion-savvy assistant.

Collections, Curation, and Social Sharing
Beyond search, we designed features that encouraged users to return, curate, and collaborate. Users can save searches, add products to themed collections, and organize favorites over time—creating their own personal showroom. These collections aren’t static—they’re dynamic, editable, and sharable. With one click, users can send a curated collection to friends, stylists, or collaborators.
Social Engagement & Ai
This added a social layer to the experience, making Showroom not just a shopping tool but a fashion discovery platform. We prioritized responsive design across all screen sizes, ensuring a seamless experience whether browsing on desktop, tablet, or mobile. The UI was kept minimal, editorial, and aspirational—making users feel like they were browsing a high-end fashion magazine powered by AI.

Design System Implementation
We helped the Showroom team create an AI-powered fashion platform that doesn’t just work—it invites users in, teaches them how to use it, and rewards them for exploring. The final result is a beautifully designed, responsive experience that combines smart search, elegant filtering, and curated collections—everything a modern shopper needs to find the perfect fit, faster.
